Special inspections don’t have to be a necessary evil — we make them a valuable part of your construction project
Often special inspectors get a bad reputation as being code police or for slowing the progress of the project. However, once our clients work with us, they see that we’re different. Not only do we provide property owners and tenants with peace of mind, we help their projects remain on schedule, reduce punch lists, and close out on time.
Here’s what makes UBSL a different kind of special inspections agency.
Highly experienced team
Our team of inspectors are made up of professional engineers, registered architects, and other highly trained individuals. We often collaborate with the DOB on code revisions, giving us even deeper insight into the code.
Technical construction expertise
Our background in construction enables us to clearly convey to the contractors why an inspection failed and what deficiencies were noted. We offer guidance and resources to understand what is needed to resolve the deficiencies so that the re-inspection can pass and work can proceed.
Transparent communication with all parties
Efficient construction requires collaboration and open communication with contractors, architects, engineers, the NY Department of Buildings, the code consultants, and the clients. We share necessary details with each party so they are apprised of progress and engage us on a timely basis.
Acting on behalf of the owner’s best interests
We are the client’s eyes and ears on the ground. Having senior staff with real estate and construction experience, we understand their challenges and goals, and we streamline the process as much as possible while ensuring the work is completed as designed.
